A volleyball league with a table that ranks properly.

Rankelo is a free volleyball league app for clubs, schools and recreational leagues. Create a league of teams, and every fixture is generated when it opens. Sets go in after the match and the table applies the FIVB rules — including the 3-2-1 split and ranking on ratios.

No credit card. No cap on leagues or players. Signing up takes a minute.

Volleyball on Rankelo

What a volleyball league looks like here.

Rankelo is built around a sport abstraction: every sport brings its own scoring rules, and the leagues, fixtures and standings work the same whatever you play. This is what volleyball brings.

Sets to 25, the fifth to 15

Regular sets run to 25 and the decider to 15, both won by two with no cap. Rankelo applies the shorter target to the last possible set only.

The FIVB 3-2-1 rule by default

Three points for a win in three or four sets. Go to five and the winner takes two, the loser one — which is the whole reason a close loss is worth playing for.

Ranked on ratios, not differences

Set ratio then point ratio, as the federations do it. A team that has played fewer matches is judged fairly by a ratio and flattered by a difference.

League types

  • Volleyball— a named team per side

A team is a name that competes — it carries its own record, and squad size is not modelled.

How it works

From idea to volleyball standings in four steps.

  1. 1

    Create a league

Pick volleyball, choose best of five sets or best of three, and set how many times each pairing meets — twice for a home-and-away season.

  2. 2

    Add the players

A name is enough — they do not need an account. Add an email too and they link to their own match history automatically the day they register.

  3. 3

    Open the league

Rankelo generates the fixtures for every pairing, once or as many times as you set. If the roster changes later the schedule reconciles — matches already played are kept.

  4. 4

    Play

Someone enters the sets — 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21 — and the table applies the points rule and the ratios on the spot.

Scoring & standings

How volleyball is scored in Rankelo.

Volleyball is a run of sets, each a race to a point target won by two. What makes it different from every racket sport here is not the arithmetic but the ranking: volleyball ranks on ratios, and it pays a team for forcing a fifth set.

A race to a targetEach row is a race to a point target won by a margin, and the row tally decides the match.

Points systems a volleyball league can pick from

Chosen per league, and changeable at any time — switch it and every match already played is re-scored.

  • 3 for a win in three or four sets, 2 and 1 when it goes to five — the FIVB rule (default)
  • 1 for a win, nothing for a loss
  • 3 for a win, 1 for a loss

Rotation, the libero and rally scoring are not modelled, because none of them changes what a result records: a list of sets with a point count per side. The consolation presets other sports offer are deliberately left off the volleyball menu — "a point for taking a set" is not a volleyball idea, and it would sit oddly beside the rule that pays for forcing a fifth.

Features

Everything a volleyball league actually needs.

Standings that follow your rules

The FIVB rule by default — three for a win, 2-1 when it goes to five — then head-to-head, set ratio and point ratio. Ratios, not differences, exactly as the federations rank.

Automatic fixtures

Every pairing × your chosen number of meetings, generated in one click when the league opens.

Players without accounts

Add someone by name and the league can start right away. They register with the same email later and pick up their matches.

Public standings

Share a link and anyone can open the table — no login, no account, nothing to install.

On your phone, in your language

Enter the score where you played it. The app runs in English and Slovenian, light or dark.

Traceable results

Every entry records who submitted it and when. Corrections go through a league admin, so the table never quietly changes.

FAQ

Volleyball leagues, answered.

Yes, and it is the default. Three points for a win in three or four sets; if the match goes to five, the winner takes two and the loser one. A league that prefers a plain win count or 3-1 can switch, and the whole table re-scores.

One league, every result, one table.
