Rankelo is built around a sport abstraction: every sport brings its own scoring rules, and the leagues, fixtures and standings work the same whatever you play. This is what tennis brings.
Sets and games, scored properly
A result is a list of sets. Rankelo checks the match is decisive for your format before it counts, and carries both sets and games into the table.
Singles or doubles
A singles league ranks players. A doubles league ranks named pairs as teams, with the same fixtures, the same scoring and the same table.
Round robin, once or twice
Everyone plays everyone. Set how many times each pairing meets and the fixture list follows — one meeting for a short season, two for home and away.

How it works

Create a league
Pick tennis, choose singles or doubles, set the match format — one set, best of three or best of five — and how many times each pairing meets.

Add the players
A name is enough — they do not need an account. Add an email too and they link to their own match history automatically the day they register.

Open the league
Rankelo generates the fixtures for every pairing, once or as many times as you set. If the roster changes later the schedule reconciles — matches already played are kept.

Play
A player enters the set scores courtside. 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 goes in as three sets, the table reorders, and everyone sees it before they have left the court.

How tennis is scored in Rankelo.
Tennis was the first sport in Rankelo and its scoring is the reference every other one is measured against: a match is a run of sets, each set a game count, and the side that takes more sets wins.

Match formats you can choose
- Single set — One set decides it — a fast club night format.
- Best of three sets — The default. First to two sets.
- Best of five sets — First to three sets, for a long season.

Points systems a tennis league can pick from
Chosen per league, and changeable at any time — switch it and every match already played is re-scored.
- 3 for a win, 1 for a set taken in defeat (default)
- 2 for a win, 1 for a set taken in defeat
- 3 for a win, 1 for a loss
- 2 for a win, 1 for a loss
- 1 for a win, nothing for a loss
- 3 for a win in straight sets, 2 and 1 when it goes the distance
A tiebreak set legitimately ends 7-6, so the six games a set runs to is a guide for the score form, not a ceiling. What Rankelo does insist on is that the match is decisive for the format you chose.
